A farmer’s friend

Ploughing the land can be intensive, backbreaking work. A buffalo can ease the burden on farmers, enabling them to work the land and grow food to feed their families. When a calf arrives, it can be sold or passed on to a neighbour spreading the benefits to others.

Your gift in action

In Laos, Concern loans buffalos to rural farmers. We identify people who can't afford a buffalo and then give them money to buy a female. In return, the farmer builds a pen and feeds the animal. Then, when the buffalo has a calf, the farmer gives the young animal to another family, and so benefits are spread around.
