The bee�s knees

In Kajiado district, rising prices are making life hard for poor communities, who can no longer survive in the traditional way, based on keeping livestock. This Gift will support a Concern beekeeping scheme, designed to give 250 families a great way to feed themselves � honey is highly nutritious, especially for children � as well as earn an income from honey, beeswax, Royal Jelly and pollen. At the same time, the bees, known as �askaris� (protectors), will help look after the forest for everyone.
